cycling for climate protection

But why does cycling make so much sense? Experts from Environmental Authority estimate that up to 30 % of car trips could be shifted to bicycle traffic in metropolitan areas. Cities like Copenhagen and Amsterdam show how high the cycling share can be. In addition, over 40 % of the car journeys in large German cities are shorter than 5 km - a perfect distance for the bike!

cycling is not only environmentally friendly, but also healthy. After all, it increases quality of life and reduces health risks. If you pedal for 30 minutes a day, you can actively counteract health problems. In addition, cycling is inexpensive: While using a bicycle costs around 10 cents per kilometer, the costs for the car are between 21 and 218 cents.
