The checks, which were completed around 10:45 p.m., have so far gone without any major disruptions. They are part of a comprehensive, cross-agency approach by the city that does not just target restaurants. Other commercial establishments such as nail salons and shisha bars are also regularly checked. Targeted action is also taken against so-called problem properties.
Problem Real Estate Task Force
Particularly noteworthy is the newly founded “Problem Real Estate Task Force”. Its aim is to combat overcrowding, neglect, vacancies and building law violations along with social and tax grievances. Currently, 44 problem properties have been identified in Frankenthal and the surrounding area, which are now being evaluated by specialist departments. Ellinore Hartmann, head of the task force, emphasizes the importance of these measures: “With a good hand, we are tackling the grievances and ensuring a safe and clean environment for all citizens.”
