Knowledge tests: Editorial Society” exhibition in Chemnitz!
What is happening in Chemnitz right now? A very special event is on the program: the “Editorial Society” exhibition, which can be viewed in the central library at TIETZ until August 28th. The event was designed by the renowned Zeit Stiftung Bucerius and offers an exciting opportunity to examine our current information behavior.
At a time when it is sometimes difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff, the exhibition invites visitors to question their own news behavior. Both analog and digital hands-on stations are used here. Among other things, participants can immerse themselves in virtual reality offerings and interactive games in order to think critically about the topics of credibility of sources and the detection of disinformation and manipulation. This interactive experience is designed to help strengthen digital media and news literacy.
Workshops on media literacy
But that's not all! In addition to the exhibition, there are several workshops that specifically address various aspects of information behavior. These workshops are free, but registration is required. Here is a brief overview:
- Workshop I: „Desinformation durchschauen“
– Datum: 12. August, 17 Uhr
– Themen: Motive von Desinformation, Einfluss auf Meinungsbildung, Faktencheck, Erkennen von Deep Fakes - Workshop II: „Influencing: Wem vertraust du?“
– Datum: 19. August, 17 Uhr
Such events are particularly important in times of fake news and a flood of information. Visitors have the opportunity to test their knowledge and explore the mechanisms behind AI-generated content. A good reason to make your way to the exhibition and also take part in the workshops. Ultimately, the future of our information society depends on how well we are informed and able to think critically.
The exhibition is accessible during opening hours of the central library. If you don't want to miss this opportunity, you should register quickly. The digital world offers us many advantages, but also brings with it challenges that need to be overcome. Take advantage of the opportunity to become fit for the future and arm yourself against the dangers of the digital flood of information.
