From today the time has finally come: The Annaberger Kät opens its gates! From June 20 to 29, 2025, Annaberg-Buchholz will become the scene of the largest folk festival in the Ore Mountains. With over 505 years of tradition, the Kät is not only the oldest folk festival in the region, but also a magnet for celebrations and cheerfulness. The festival is opened at 5 p.m. and the anticipation for eventful days could not be greater.

Whoever thinks, folk festivals are always the same, this is taught better this year. The organizers have kept a good hand and set up numerous new attractions. This includes the exciting "Spinning Mouse", a rotating roller coaster adventure, as well as the breathtaking "Fly Over", a chain pilot that hovers in the air 40 meters high. And for everyone who wants to feel some weightlessness, the "Loop Fighter" is waiting for brave guests.

A festival without good food? Unimaginable! In addition to traditional dishes such as crepes and Langos, fish specialties and Asian "Hot Wok" dishes should not be missing. There are also numerous beer gardens where the products of the main sponsor Wernesgrüner are served. Meyer’s kätschänke acts as a social meeting point this year with a varied stage program.

The daily program highlights promise the best entertainment: The opening evening comes up with the Kätzoppeldecker, while the popular car service will take place on Sunday. Ladies Night is the order of the day on Monday - an absolute must for all women, because there are discounts.

The Kät offers a colorful program over the ten days, which guarantees excitement and fun for the whole family. On Wednesday, June 25th, the family day with the mascot Käti will take place - a highlight for the smallest festival visitors.

Of course, the 2025 photo competition is also part of the program. Here creative minds can submit their best snapshots by July 1st. The winning photo is rewarded with two tickets for the international fairytale film festival, which will take place from August 20 to 24.

The security of all guests is top priority. A comprehensive security concept that includes technical tests, hygiene measures and the presence of security forces ensures that all visitors can enjoy the Kät carefree.

The journey to the Kät is uncomplicated: whether by bus, train or car - everyone is well connected here. Drivers can fall back on the parking spaces on the B95 ("P Kät"). The exact opening times are different every day so that it is made possible for everyone to fully enjoy the festivities.
