Energetic renovation of the silverland hall: LED lighting brings savings!
In Annaberg-Buchholz, the Silberlandhalle will be subjected to a comprehensive facelifting in the coming months. On August 5, 2025, the energetic renovation began, which is intended to switch the interior lighting of the hall to modern LED technology. The project not only aims to significantly reduce electricity consumption, but also to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. As the city administration lists in a current message, this is an important step towards sustainable urban development.
The construction work started last week and should take place in sections. This means that the ongoing sports and event operations in the hall can be maintained. During the renovation work, two partial areas of the hall remain permanently usable, which is a great relief for visitors: inside and athletes:
sustainable lighting technology for the region
Financially, the project bears fruit to sustainable renovation of the Silberlandhalle: 75 percent of the total costs of around 150,000 euros are funded by the funds from the European Fund for Regional Development (EFR). This special funding program, "Sustainable integrated urban development 2021–2027- individual measures", supports regional projects that serve environmental and climate protection and thus increase the quality of life in the city in the long term.
a step into the future
The city of Annaberg-Buchholz shows how important it is to invest in the infrastructure and to make it sustainable. A good reason for everyone to see the hall not only as a sporting and cultural institution, but also as part of an environmentally conscious future!
