Frankenthal is preparing for a festival full of colors and creativity: TheCulture Days 2025will take place from August 27th to 31st and promise a wide variety of events for all generations. Mayor Dr. Nicolas Meyer cordially invites the population to take part in the celebrations. On the city of Frankenthal website Anyone interested can find out everything about this great event.
The start will be on Wednesday, August 27th at 6 p.m. in the Erkenbert Ruine with an entertaining quiz evening. Registration is required and entry costs 10 euros. Jürgen Hellmann, the director of the Alte Workshop Theater, will lead the evening and ensure an enthralling atmosphere.
Colorful program for everyone
Thursday, August 28th, is all about all-rounders: Under the motto “Forever Young – for everyone from 0 to 99+”, children's and youth clubs will provide creative offers, sporting activities and enjoyment activities. A special highlight will be the Lions Club's charity concert with the popular cult bandTHE FAT KIDS. The income from serving and catering flows into social projects. There is also a workshop on architecture and night photography by Dirk Thiesen on the program, for which registration with the vhs is required.
Friday, August 29th also promises exciting events. TheForever Young Discoin the Dathenushaus starts at 2 p.m. and is free. Children can look forward to a DJ workshop, while there is a family magic show in the Erkenbert ruins at 4 p.m. In the evening, the art and shopping night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. attracts people to the city center.
Diverse cuisine and art
On Saturday, August 30th, music will be played in the city center from the morning onwards, while the ensembles' final concert at 12.30 p.m. in the Erkenbert ruins will mark the crowning conclusion of the day. For the little ones there will be a musical fairy tale called “The Mouse and the Lion” in the city library at 11 a.m. – entry is free. You can experience the nostalgia of the 50s at the Schreinerfarm, where exciting kitchen memories will also be presented from 11 a.m.
The highlight of Saturday is the Big Band of the Municipal Music School with a final concert at 8 p.m., also free of charge. Beforehand, line dance and round dance presentations from 3:30 p.m. ensure momentum and a good mood.
Sunday, August 31st, opens with the first “Sing mim” open air by the 1st Frankenthaler Male Choir 03, where a delicious white sausage breakfast awaits the guests. Other highlights include a tour of the Jewish cemeteries in Frankenthal and the 10th anniversary of the band “Horsch mol hi” in the Erkenbert ruins at 3 p.m.
Art in the cityscape
The Cultural Days are not only a celebration of music, but also of art. Students from the Karolinengymnasium present their wax crayon works, while Annette Krahnke-Höner and other local artists exhibit their works. From zodiac angels to music icons and landscape motifs – the variety of works of art on display is huge. Particularly noteworthy is the anniversary exhibition “25 Years of Straw Hat Festival Button” in the Kunsthaus Frankenthal.
