Mini Olympics 2025: Fun and sport for Frankenthal children!
The anticipation of a special event in Frankenthal is increasing: the popular Mini Olympics for children will take place on August 1st and 2nd, 2025. This event is aimed at young athletes aged 4 to 10 and is held on the VT sports field and in the hall at Nachtsweideweg 40. Gates open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days.
A varied program awaits participants at this mini-Olympics, which has been a tradition since 1987. A total of around 20 stations are available where children can acquire the “Hoppel and Brush” sports badge. The little athletes are supported by dedicated helpers from the United Gymnastics Association of Frankenthal (VT) and the cardiac sports group of the Frankenthal Ski Club. To make the experience even more exciting, the kids can look forward to a colorful accompanying program. Among other things, the balloon artist Volker Rudolph will be on site, and there will be exciting activities such as “Drums Alive” with Stephanie Kleber, visits from Captain Leo from the lido and of course a large XXL pirate ship bouncy castle.
A celebration for the whole family
Your physical well-being is also taken care of: grilled sausages and fresh cakes are available on the sports field. Participation in the Mini-Olympics is also free, only groups must register in advance by email sport@frankenthal.de register. Each little participant not only receives a certificate, but also a little surprise.
The organizers, the culture and sports department of the Frankenthal city administration in collaboration with the VT Frankenthal and the cardiac sports group of the ski club, set the goal of this mini-Olympics to arouse the children's interest in sports and strengthen their self-confidence. Anyone who would like to get actively involved is also encouraged to take part as a volunteer. Anyone interested can easily register using an online form at www.frankenthal.de/miniolympiade.
The first mini-Olympics took place many years ago under the patronage of Peter Trump and is still very popular today. The event has evolved over the years, but the joy of sporting activities remains unchanged. Organizer Oksana Zeidler can be reached on 06233 89 453 or by email oksana.zeidler@frankenthal.de available to clarify further questions.
Take the opportunity and come to this exciting event with your children - there is definitely something for everyone!
