Hoyerswerda is planning a mega event: The big state harvest festival in 2025!

In just a few weeks the time has come: from September 12th to 14th, 2025, the Hoyerswerdaer Neustadt will be transformed into a festival area full of colors and activities. The 26th Saxon State Harvest Festival (LEDF) is just around the corner and promises to be a real highlight for all visitors. According to information from Hoyerswerda.de The city is well prepared and expects around 50,000 visitors over the three days of the festival.

The festival extends across several central locations, including Lausitzer Platz, the Central Park and Einsteinstrasse, as well as the old town with locations such as the Johanneskirche, the Vis-à-vis Hall and the Children and Youth Farm. A big parade on Sunday with 36 participating groups will lead from the old town to the new town, a real highlight for the spectators! The organizer has everything under control: 40 clubs, 80 catering providers and 70 showmen have already registered - a real feast for the senses!

A celebration of traditions and values

The Saxon State Harvest Festival is not just a festival, but also an expression of cultural identity and hard work in rural regions of Saxony. How on SLK Miltitz can be read, the responsibility for a sustainable use of nature and resources will be emphasized during the event. The Catholic and Protestant churches accompany the festival and stand for the values that shape our rural area.

Since 1998, the LEDF has been held annually in one of the three directorate areas - Chemnitz, Dresden and Leipzig. Hoyerswerda has the honor of being the host after Frohburg (2023) and Mittweida (2024). At the same time, there is a city festival taking place in the city, which not only offers concerts, but also a market for regional products and children's activities - there really is something for every age group!

The supporting program and the necessary preparations

The festival not only offers traditional harvest customs, but also a diverse range of music, crafts and regional specialties. And if you think that's all, you're wrong: a large fairground with rides and amusement stands provides entertainment and invites visitors to linger. We are looking for active support to hold the festival. Volunteers can play an important role, especially in organization, guest relations and the parade, so anyone who wants to help is welcome!

Firstly, guests' mobility should also be well organized: a parking and mobility concept ensures that there is sufficient free parking space in the old town as well as at Globus, Kaufland and Toom. A shuttle service is also planned to connect the locations with each other.

If you would like to receive more information about the festival and its events, you can visit the new official website, which will go online on July 18, 2025: www.landeserntedankfest-sachsen.de. A uniform platform is offered for the event, which can be flexibly adapted to changing venues. The Saxon State Board of Trustees for Rural Areas e. V. (SLK) actively helped with the organization and, together with numerous citizens, clubs, associations and institutions, ensures the success of this special event.

We look forward to an unforgettable festival and to celebrating the diversity and wealth of Saxony's rural regions!
