New retail concept in Hoyerswerda: Your opinion counts!
New retail concept in Hoyerswerda: Your opinion counts!
What's new in Hoyerswerda? On June 23, 2025, the city council decided to publicly interpret an important retail and center concept. This research project should not only take into account the challenges of trade, but also urban aspects to further develop the retail locations and city centers. The interpretation period runs from July 14th to August 13, 2025 and all citizens are invited to prepare objections during this time. Current information can be found on the city's homepage.
If you want, you can look at the concept draft both digitally and in the old town hall, Markt 1, room 3.14 during the regular opening hours. Obviously, the historic town hall has very special opening times: Mondays between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and Thursdays until 6:00 p.m. it is particularly accessible.
Citizen participation and participation
Citizen participation plays an essential role in this concept development. Already on November 2, 2024, a first information event took place on Lausitzer Platz. An online survey complemented the feedback and was accessible between October 24 and November 30, 2024. The results collected here are visible on the Internet and offer an exciting insight into the wishes and needs of the population. Click here for the [participation platform].
Unfortunately, not only Hoyerswerda has to struggle with the challenges of retail. The retail and center concept is also of central importance in other cities such as Luckenwalde. Here the control of trade development and the securing of inner -city supply areas is precisely tackled with these concepts. The 2020/2021 continued concept includes the analysis of retail locations and develops strategies for future construction management plans. The focus is on the central supply areas that have now been redually divided: A-Center, B-Center and C-Center are just a few examples that should ensure order and overview. More information can be found on the website of Luckenwalde.
A look over the borders
In the Mitte district in Berlin, things look similar. Here the local supply situation is very good and the walk -in accessibility of supermarkets and drugstores is guaranteed. The well -known high level of the retail structure leaves space to strengthen these important locations, especially in central supply areas. An attractive mix of use is used here that includes retail, services, gastronomy and cultural workers. According to the [urban development office Berlin] (https://www.berlin.de/ba-mitte/politik-und-verwaltung/aemter/stadtplanung/staedtebaulichlichliche-planungen/einzelhandels-und-zentreconz, the quality of stay and the living environment in the trade centers are to be improved.
summarized can be said that the focus is on developments and challenges in retail not only in Hoyerswerda, but in many cities. Citizens have the opportunity to actively shape them and bring their voice. It remains exciting to see how the concepts and ideas will prove in practice. Let's make the best!
