The 54th riding and jumping tournament starts on Friday, which will once again attract many riders and spectators this year. Visitors can look forward to impressive dressage and jumping tests as well as a leading rein competition. Even the little ones get their money's worth.

Social responsibility and folklore
While the sports program in Wittichenau causes excitement, the social aspect is not forgotten. From 3 p.m. there is the chance to register for free with the DKMS. Stem cell typing for little Valentin is supported here, and anyone between the ages of 17 and 55 can help.
On Saturday and Sunday the XV also moves. Folklore festival in Crostwitz casts its spell on visitors. Saturday is all about customs, when traditionally decorated farms bring the place to life with music, singing and dancing from folklore groups. In addition, various participation offers invite all generations.
On Sunday, a multilingual festival service awaits the participants on the festival meadow in Chrósćicy/Crostwitz, followed by a colorful afternoon with a parade of participants through Crostwitz. Here guests can enjoy a thematic program by Lusatian folklore groups. The crowning finale is a folkloric fireworks display, accompanied by musical and dance performances.
A highlight: riding and jumping tournament in Sielow
Another important event in the region is the traditional Whitsun riding and jumping tournament in the Sielow district, which is celebrating its 53rd anniversary this year. From Friday to Whit Sunday, 21 jumping competitions of various levels of difficulty are held here, and the floodlit jumping on Friday evening is definitely a highlight that you shouldn't miss.
The absolute highlight is the class S jumping competition on Whitsunday, which is worth a whopping 6,000 euros and has the catchy name “Grand Prix of the Sparkasse Spree Neiße”. Jörg Schnapke, the chairman of the Sielow Riding Club e.V., has a lot of exciting information ready for a change.
This variety of events not only offers an insight into the equestrian culture, but also allows us all to maintain community and traditions. Such events are very popular throughout Germany and bring horse lovers together, be it at breeding successes, stallion parades or mare shows, as Deutschland zu Pferde reports.
The entire weekend in Wittichenau and Sielow is all about togetherness and celebrating regional culture - you should take the time and be there!
