Traffic chaos at the Küchwald event: Bryan Adams and Sido cause closures!

In August things will get really busy in the Küchwaldpark in Chemnitz. The concerts by Bryan Adams and Sido, which will take place on August 6th and 10th, promise not only musical highlights, but also some challenges for traffic in the area. C3 Chemnitzer Veranstaltungszentrum GmbH, the organizer of the two events, has already released initial information that is important for all residents and concert goers. Chemnitz reports that large-scale road closures and traffic restrictions are necessary during the concerts.

The closures apply from 2 p.m. to midnight on the day of the event and affect numerous streets in the area around the park. Altendorfer Straße, Glücksbergstraße and parts of Küchwaldstraße remain closed to traffic in order to accommodate the flow of visitors and to ensure safety. The access via Leipziger Straße will be particularly affected by the closures on both days, so residents should use alternative routes such as Konradstraße and Limbacher Straße.

Important traffic information

Visitors who arrive with their own car will find parking options at the Chemnitz Trade Fair and in the Chemnitz Center. For everyone else, there is a shuttle service from Chemnitzer Verkehrs-AG (CVAG), which makes the journey easier. To ensure that traffic stays flowing and the escape routes are clear, parking bans will be in place between July 30th and August 18th. The city administration points out that vehicles that violate the parking regulations will be subject to a fee.

Access is guaranteed for residents at all times, but under the supervision of stewards to ensure everything runs smoothly. All access is also ensured for the fire brigade and rescue service, so that they can react quickly in an emergency.
