Diverse September offers: Experience education and culture in Chemnitz!
What's going on in Chemnitz in September? The adult education center has put together an exciting and varied program that is sure to have something to offer for everyone. The online event with SPIEGEL correspondent Christina Hebel starts on Monday, September 1st. She talks about her journalistic work in Russia since the Ukraine conflict. However, those interested should register quickly as places are in demand. A basic course A1.1 in modern Hebrew (Ivrit) takes place at TIETZ at 6:45 p.m., which costs 122.00 euros.
On **Thursday, September 4th**, the exhibition opening “Graphic Novels about Stefan Heym” is on the program at TIETZ. Student work is presented there alongside works by Heym, and participation is free of charge - registration is also required here. Another highlight follows on **Friday, September 5th**, with the lecture “Arguing instead of fighting”. The depth psychological aspects of conflicts are examined here. This event also requires prior registration.
Lectures and interesting courses
Would you like to find out more about digitalization in East Germany? On Monday, September 8th, there will be a free lecture at TIETZ. On the following Tuesdays, from **9. September** to **16. December**, there is a free biographical writing course. Right on the evening of the 9th. In September** there will also be a reading on “The Mortal God: Power and Reign in the Tsarist Empire” – registration is also required here.
Particularly interesting for parents: On **10. September** the parent-child course “Learn easier with brain gymnastics” will take place from 3:30 p.m. Parents and children can participate together for 8.30 euros. There will also be a lecture on the world order and Germany's role in it on the same day - registration is also required here.
Education and exchange
On **11. In September**, those interested can find out more about family sponsorships and foster parents at TIETZ, followed by a lecture that addresses the role of parties in democracy. A special event will be held on **15. September** will take place: The renowned economist Prof. Dr. Joseph Stiglitz will speak online about economics and democracy. This event is also free, but registration is required.
The series of events continues with a tour of the Socialists' Grove of Honor in Chemnitz on January 18th. September**, followed by the opening of the “Lovable Zwickau” exhibition on the same evening. On **24. A “Japanese for On the Go A1” course will be offered in September**, while on **25. September** meditative dancing is on the program for 13.00 euros. The month ends on **30. September** the event “Heroes in the Shadow Garden” will take place at TIETZ.
