Dresden: Skater celebrate new spot under the Löbtauer Brücke!
Finally the time has come: The Dresden skaters can be happy, because since Monday, August 4, 2025, they have their place back under the Löbtauer Bridge. This newly designed skate surface on Columbusstrasse shines not only with fresh asphalt, but also with a well thought -out drainage system that ensures optimal conditions during skating. The new system is a real hit for everyone who loves gliding on four roles.
What makes this skate surface so special? It is the first of its kind in Dresden - a public skate park that is located under a bridge. Here the skaters enjoy the advantage of having protection against rain and shadows on hot summer days. A highlight is also the ten -meter -long Roundrail, which enables the user: inside to try out different tricks and show their skills.
a place for the skater community
Even if the area is already in operation, it will continue to work on its improvement. The entire project is still in implementation, and other skate elements and an appealing design of the environment are planned. The draft for completion is already available - the anticipation for the upcoming extensions is great!
- planned extensions:
- Large skate elements
- seating
- Parkour elements
- bicycle bracket
The final implementation of the extensions is planned for 2026, provided the financing is. This is particularly gratifying because the conversion of the skate system preceded an intensive participation process. As early as November 2023, two events were held to inquire about the wishes of the skaters and present the status of the planning. Many suggestions and ideas flowed directly into the planning and so the new skate facility not only becomes a place for skating, but also a place where the community comes together.
The Dresden skaters have proven a really good hand because their concerns were taken seriously and counted. This shows once again that a direct dialogue between users and urban planners bears fruit.
