Level IT up: Free day of action for students in Dresden's tech world!

On Friday, August 22, 2025, Dresden will become a digital hub when the “Level IT up” action day takes place from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. With an impressive 24 interactive workshops in eight renowned IT companies, the event awaits students in grades 7 to 13 who want to get excited about digital career fields. The event is supported by major players such as Amazon Web Services, SAP, and Carl Zeiss Digital Innovation GmbH and promises exciting insights into the digital world.

Why is the event worthwhile for young talents? The day of action aims to offer students practical education that prepares them for the coming challenges in the digital age. In addition to workshops, each lasting 90 minutes, live demos, tech talks on topics such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity and competitions are also planned. This allows participants to experience firsthand how diverse and dynamic the IT industry is.

Diverse workshops and networking

A special highlight are the many workshop offerings, which range from programming to the use of AI for climate neutrality to cyber detective workshops. The first workshops start at 1:00 p.m. and the last ones end at 6:30 p.m. More often than expected, there will also be the opportunity to commute to the various companies along tram line 3, so that students can spontaneously immerse themselves in further workshops.

Digital education as a future perspective

This day of action is no coincidence. Digitalization shapes our everyday lives and is being exacerbated by the corona crisis. In order to optimally prepare students for this reality, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched the Digital Education Offensive. As part of this offensive, the development of digital learning tools is being promoted and the qualification of educational specialists is being supported. The aim is to facilitate access to education and enrich teaching.

Events like “Level IT up” are therefore an important part of a growing movement towards more digital education. Here, students have the opportunity to learn important digital skills and significantly improve their career prospects.
