First children's summer festival in the Botanical Garden: fun for the whole family!
On July 12th, the Botanical Garden in Chemnitz will be the most colorful meeting place for families when the first children's summer festival is ceremoniously opened. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., children and those young at heart can expect a colorful program that will create memories for the whole family. Chemnitz.de reports that numerous activities are available, including contact with dogs, ponies and alpacas. Two exciting tours offer deeper insights into the life of the animals in the botanical garden.
But that's just the beginning! Curious noses can look forward to the nose challenge, which allows them to explore the plant world in an olfactory way. Those who prefer to be active can prove themselves in the hobby horsing competition - registration by email is required. Face painting, plant sales and a flea market round off the event, so there is something for everyone. The event is organized by the Botanical Garden's Friends' Association, which always ensures a wide range of events.
A full family program
The Children's Summer Festival is not the only event in the Botanical Garden. A garden rally will take place on July 26th and is aimed at families with children aged 7 and over. Under the motto “What’s sprouting there?” Happy spring tasks and puzzles are on the program, which can be attended without prior registration. This event is organized in collaboration with the Museum Pedagogical Center (MPZ) and promises an entertaining experience for young and old. Information about this can be found on the website Society of Friends of the Botanical Garden e.V. to find.
For those who want to be active during the school holidays, there are special programs for children between 7 and 12 years old. These events include exciting games, experiments, puzzles and creative activities in which young participants get to know the world of plants from flowers to roots. Excursions to the garden and greenhouses give the children a better insight into the work of biologists and gardeners. All of these great activities take place daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A week full of nature experiences costs 25 euros per day, with members of the circle of friends benefiting from a reduced price. Further information is available on the website Botgart University of Bonn available.
The dedicated team at the Botanical Garden ensures that little hobby gardeners, animal lovers and adventurers get their money's worth. Whether at the first children's summer festival or in the many other offers - from July 12th it's time to go to Chemnitz to discover the wonderful world of plants together!
