Traffic chaos in Chemnitz: MDR music summer causes closures!

Cheers to music and social interaction! On Friday, August 8th, the Theaterplatz in Chemnitz will become the stage for the opening concert of the “MDR Music Summer”. An event that music lovers shouldn't miss - after all, the event will even be broadcast live. There's anticipation building up! But to ensure that this remains undisturbed, there are special traffic restrictions that should definitely be observed.

In order to ensure the perfect background noise for the concert, the section of the Strasse of Nations from Brückenstrasse to Richard-Tauber-Strasse as well as Carolastrasse will be completely closed from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Unfortunately, this also means that parking is not possible in these areas. The parking bans are in effect from 4 p.m. and remain in effect until around 11 p.m., which may require some rescheduling.

Detours for a smooth process

All drivers who come to the concert themselves or have to drive around the area are recommended to use Dresdner Straße and August-Bebel-Straße. The traffic volume will certainly increase due to the closures, so it might make sense to leave a little earlier. The parking bays on the closed streets are also affected by the parking ban, so it's better to immediately look for a parking space in the surrounding streets.

A must for all music lovers and a bit of a challenge for drivers - but that's inevitable with a highlight like this. Hygiene measures and requirements for the evening are planned in order to safely welcome as many visitors as possible.
