Fabulix 2025: Annaberg's city center becomes a fairytale film world!

What a fantastic event awaits us! On August 22, 2025, Annaberg's city center will be transformed into a magical fairytale film backdrop. The Fabulix Festival promises an unforgettable experience for young and old.

A colorful program awaits visitors from Karlsplatz to Marktplatz. The Court of the Giants attracts visitors of all ages with exciting shows and stories. Pantomime duets such as “Aladin and the Magic Lamp” and “Hans im Glück” provide entertainment, while the Hammerbühne junior celebrates the premiere of “The Wizard of Oz”. Another highlight is the knight show on Saturday at 4 p.m. and the fairytale visit from characters such as Ariel, Jasmine and the fairy tale fairy from 2:30 p.m.

A festival for the senses

Things get musical with live concerts by the band Nathanael and Stilbruch, who perform on the festival area. The “Endzeitmärchen” by “FK Zeitspiel Berlin” offers a very special experience, creating a post-apocalyptic fairytale world. Young visitors have the opportunity to get creative: on the Lower Church Square, children can create short films and learn film editing and animation under the guidance of Europe Direct Erzgebirge and Chemnitz University of Technology.

Things already get magical in the dark alley: here the magic workshop, gemstone mining and hands-on activities await explorers big and small. On the old town terrace there is a medieval village with felting, blacksmiths and the storyteller FABULIX. The eight fairytale photo spots in the old town are particularly beautiful, including the unicorn and the mermaid grotto, where souvenir pictures can be taken.

An experience for the whole family

The city center is enlivened with a variety of restaurants and dealer stands. In the Dark Alley, 29 imaginative walking acts interact with the audience: princes, princesses, witches and fairies create a lively atmosphere. And for those who want to learn more about the history of the region, there are guided tours of Barbara Uthmann's former home - but registration is required.
