20 years of the Westerzgebirge secondary school: celebration concert with 30 musicians!

Things are about to get really festive in the pretty town of Aue-Bad Schlema! The Westerzgebirge secondary school, which opened its doors in August 2005, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. What an occasion! Originally founded as a middle school, the high school started with just 22 students, most of whom came from Bad Schlema and Schneeberg. Today the school has an impressive 275 students who are taught in 12 classes from the fifth to the tenth grade and come from Bad Schlema and 15 other communities in the surrounding area. A good hand for education!

On September 26, 2025, the big anniversary will be celebrated with a concert under the motto “20 years – 20 strings”. Holger Schmiedel's Pop-Akademie music school is taking part and has spared no expense or effort for this special occasion. There will be 30 talented musicians on stage who will present guests with a varied program of pop and rock music, both in German and English.
