Little astronauts start in Aue: Sun, Moon and Stars” project week!

The Albrecht Dürer School in Aue is preparing for an exciting project week under the motto “Sun, Moon and Stars”. This creative week starts on June 23, 2025 and promises lots of exciting activities for little astronomy fans. On June 17th, teacher Max Quaas from Fulldomedia GmbH set up a school planetarium in the gymnasium that will take the students on a fascinating journey into space. Elementary school teacher Mandy Wiese is the driving force behind this event. Even as a child, she was keenly interested in the topic and now wants to introduce children to the secrets of the universe in a playful way.

The school wants to awaken the curiosity of the students with a colorful program. During the project week, the children can hear interesting facts about our solar system, make trick rockets and even complete a fitness course for “future astronauts”. This makes learning fun and the little astronomers can express their creativity. Things are galactic in the kitchen too! They will prepare UFO bread and rocket skewers - a treat for future astronauts. And if that's not enough, you have the opportunity to take part in a planetary race in the gym or take a dream trip into space.

Finished with a highlight

The crowning conclusion will be a children's musical theater on June 26, 2025, which will also revolve around the theme “Sun, Moon and Stars”. This event promises to be not only informative but also entertaining and will bring the entire school community together.

The content for this exciting project comes in a variety of ways. Platforms such as the educational server offer a dossier on the subject of space and astronauts, which is suitable for children aged 5 to 15. Here you will not only find information, but also craft instructions and interesting links to other astronomy resources. For example, on the “Page with the Mouse” the astronaut Alexander Gerst shows exciting experiments that he carried out in space. The educational game “Multiverso” also promotes children’s scientific interest in a playful way.

The school community of the Albrecht Dürer School can look forward to a creative and educational week. Interest in the topics of astronomy and space travel is not only encouraged in lessons, but also in many leisure activities that make the topic playful and exciting.
