Mayoral election in Kamenz: This is how the vote works!

Today, August 22, 2025, there is exciting news from the large district town of Kamenz. The mayoral election is taking place on September 28, 2025, and preparations are in full swing. The notice of this election was already published in Official Gazette No. 23/2025 on June 7, 2025. From now on, citizens are called upon to submit their nominations to run for this important office, as kamenz.de reports.

Voters in Kamenz are particularly in demand because everyone over the age of 18 can cast their vote. The election itself is a direct civil right and is universal, immediate, free, equal and secret. When it comes to eligibility, some criteria must be taken into account. People over 65 are not eligible to run for the office of full-time mayor.
